In 2010, the Russian rail beam project, undertaken by Wuhan Iron and Steel Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation, was contracted by the Russian Mezhkurgan Group. The project involved the renovation of the No. 3 rolling mill workshop at the Chelyabinsk Steel Plant under the group's management, the installation of a universal rolling mill, and the production of 100-meter rails and other steel sections. China Minmetals Corporation won the project through an EPC turnkey contract, with a total project value of $300 million, and the project was completed in July 2013.
